Mark droned on for 15 minutes about updating the Club Constitution, then continued on for 10 more minutes about the club by-laws. No one was impressed.
Changes include:
Keeping the Name Cedar Rapids Brewing Society for all legal documents, but changing Social Media to Cedar Rapids Brewing and Tasting Society
Tasting members will still pay the annual $30 dues, as will all members, and have all access to club functions.
Removing Social Membership from the Constitution. This clause was introduced when hosting a beer festival required some legal magic. The laws have since changed, and we are all good.
Added Festival Coordinator to a Cabinet Position and removed the responsibility of the festival from the Activities Coordinator Position. Responsibilities for the Festival Coordinator added to Cabinet Member expectations.
Added Competition Coordinator to a Cabinet Position and removed the responsibility of competitions from the Vice President. Responsibilities for Competition Coordinator added to Cabinet Member expectations.
Correcting dates of Elections taking place during the November meeting and taking effect in January of the following year.
Replaced language of Cabinet Members “turning in all BeerNuts Property” to submitting end of year documents to CRBS Cabinet Google Drive” at the end of each year.
Listed documents each Cabinet Position should submit to Google Drive.
President – meeting agendas
Treasurer – end of year account balances, and expenses, as they occur. Paid membership, for quorum, and AHA members for club insurance.
Secretary – legal documents updated with state to maintain tax free status, meeting minutes.
Activities Director – Documents of club activities and Jimmy Carter Happy Hour
Festival coordinator – Summary of expenditures and profits from festival, plus other festival related items, ie. vendors, charity donation, etc.
Competition Coordinator – List of competition winners, and styles for future years.
Vice President – list of items he/she picked up the slack for among the other cabinet members.
Removed the position of Social Media Coordinator. Persons involved in festival organization are the ones who promote the event on Social MediaChanges in the By-laws will reflect the above changes.
And when everybody thought Mark was done he sprung more shit upon them.
To speed up the dues paying process, collect contact information, and determine the interests of the club he offered up a Google Form to fill out. Mark is a shit show. Please consider filling out this form, that will be on The Facebook Private Group, and in the Forum. It will make the process much faster on Thursday night.

Everyone got a second beer and breathed a sigh of relief.
Club Dues $30 CRBS, Love it, or leave it. A bargain at 2x the price.
Grain Order.
Matt will get a grain/price list by the February meeting so the order can be placed ASAP after the February meeting for March meeting pick up.Change in Treasurer Cabinet Position
Derek, Mark and Matt will arrange a time to get things switched over.Patches, and new exciting idea!!!!!
We are trying to locate the club patches. Another idea was floated by the most long winded member of the cabinet was getting T-Shirts instead. T-shirts would be a sturdy cotton work T-shirt, and have a breast pocket to hold your smokes. The club logo would be emblazoned on the breast pocket, and BREWER would be printed across the back. Things to discuss would be a one color (white) logo and white BREWER on the back, or a three color logo on the front with white BREWER on the back.
Information on this will be collected in the survey put out by Mr. Nosey.Tent
We are going to price a 12 x 12 pop up tent with the club logo. Included will be weights, to keep it from blowing away.Branded table cloth
This will also be priced. We may need to order more than one as we move away from bars to tap boxes. You know, just a little something else to show how classy we are.BJCP Study Group
In the all intrusive survey you will fill out for club membership, you will also be asked about joining a BJCP study group. It is a fact that one of the fastest ways to become a better brewer is learning what Certified Beer Judges are looking for when they taste your beers. Once interest is gauged in this group, more details will follow.
The rough outline
Start a BJCP study group
Once enough interest has been established have members of the group provide tastings at meetings. 7 pm social hour, 7:30 beer education, 8 pm general meeting, 10 pm we should go to Bricks. -
