Haley will be sending a Thank You note to Millstream Brewing for the invitation to the Iowa Festival of Beers and the $150 check provided to cover Club expenses.

Derek will be contacted about Club Insurance provided through the American Homebrewers Association.
If we are not covered for the entire year, the next enrollment dates are 11/1 – 12/1. Cost is $5.06 / member. This will insure us in any event involving General Liability and Liquor liability through 9/1/25.
If 75% of our club members are members of the AHA, the AHA will reimburse us for our insurance premiums.
Pay your club dues, or you will not be covered. Join the AHA for Christsake.

The Holiday party will be December 14 at the Jensens’. 6103 Rapids Ridge Road NE Cedar Rapids. Bring food to share, whales, etc. etc. etc. 7:00 PM. Wear something nice. Don’t be creepy.

Learn to Homebrew Day is November 2nd. It may also be at the Jensens’, but Mrs Jensen is in bed. I’m not going to wake her to ask.

Changing the general format of the club was discussed. The discussion was based on becoming the Cedar Rapids Brewing and Tasting Club. Homebrewing is a dying hobby. You can get any Iowa Craft Beer you want from an entire aisle in Hy-Vee. Beer Festivals are dying.
This would require a member vote on amending the club bylaws. This vote would take place at the November Meeting.
The only change to the current standing of the club would be trying to appeal to more community members. Logo would still be the same. Mainly because we have 25,000 sheets of letterhead for our extensive correspondence.
