This is a pretty good article and they seem to have been pretty thorough in their testing and reviews, with a couple of exceptions – Cowboy is total crap charcoal (IMHO) and Big Green Egg charcoal is actually made for them by Royal Oak – so don’t pay a premium price for it, just buy RO instead!
If you want to try the Jealous Devil (my current “go to” charcoal), you can get it at Grill Works in Marion.
I tried that once, but I was a bit skittish about putting the steak UNDER the chimney. I put a small wire grate on top and cooked it there. It was OK and a fun thing to do – once.
